EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) - The University of Evansville is among six colleges stepping up to protect its students from Meningitis B.

UE, along with Butler University, Earlham College, Marian University, Valparaiso University, and St. Mary of the Woods College, will require incoming students to get the Meningitis B vaccine.

During the recent school year, there were 11 confirmed cases of Meningitis B at colleges across the country. One of those cases claimed a student’s life at a community college in Florida.
