Michigan's leading health care organizations on Monday asked administrators at University of Michigan and Michigan State University to require students to be vaccinated against meningitis B.

In recent years, this deadly disease has taken the lives of college students across the United States, Including right here in Michigan.

The organizations are encouraging major universities to participate in the Big Ten Challenge by adopting the lifesaving reform and updating their school's immunization policies.
